What we're seeing
At NEW YORK STATE SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF, the student:teacher ratio has risen 14% over the 5-year window — from 3.7:1 in 2020 to 4.2:1 in 2024. The gap vs US average of 15.4:1 is roughly flat (~11.2:1 below).
